Ivan adjusts to modern times like Koda does. At first, Ivan didn't see the Rangers worthy as being Knights so he invited people he thought worthy but when they went against the evil aliens, they ran off. The Rangers stayed by his side and proved themselves to him, he took a job as a waiter at the Amber Beach Dinosaur Musuem. He attempts to return the Gold Energem to Phillip, Zandar's current prince, but he acknowledges that Ivan was chosen by the Energem and leaves it to him. He has a great sense of honesty, loyalty, finesse and chivalry but sometimes it can become clouded. For example, when the Rangers were granted wishes, he wished to save a damsel in distress. He in turn saved a female Dino Cafe worker from falling from stairs but ignored her thank you.

Ivan mistakes a valuable antique suit of armor for his practice dummy and rips it apart. He tries to earn money in misguided attempts. Prince Phillip says the police said Ivan visited the bank. The gold bar King George gave him earned value and gave Mr. Smith the check. Kendall thanks Phillip. Mr. Smith tells him Ivan would be rich, Ivan says the museum helps the community and honesty has its own rewards. Ivan and the others find a graffiti artist vandalizing the museum. Ivan finds out it is his doppleganger named Zach from Zandar, his great granddad was a knight. Ivan and Zach conflict over what they consider art. When a monster switches the bodies of the Rangers, Ivan in Riley's body tries to bond with Zach. They find out even if they don't agree, they can still get along. Once Snide is defeated and the Dark Energem is destroyed, the energems reverse time to save Earth, the Rangers defeat Sledge who returned. Ivan returns to his time and the Rangers to theirs. In modern times, Keeper returns Ivan for Christmas.
